Pastor John K. Evans Jr. and Mrs. Josephine Evans

Biographical details: In 1986 Pastor Evans joined the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) where he received various promotions; from Cadet to Constable, Sergeant and thereafter, to Inspector. He remained in this capacity, serving the Government and people of the Cayman Islands through a long distinguished tenure, and thereafter, took retirement from the RCIPS in 2009.
Having over 23 years of law enforcement experience, this enabled and equipped him with various disciplines such as:  being trained as a Personal Protection Officer (PPO); setting up the Juvenile Bureau and serving as the first Youth Liaison Officer of the RCIPS; training for Senior Investigating Officer and a qualified Professional Investigative Procedure (PIP) level 3 investigator, to UK standards.
 
In 2010, he decided to return to the working environment in the role of Serjeant-at-Arms of the Cayman Islands Legislative Assembly.
 
As Serjeant-at-Arms, Pastor Evans’ role is in consultation with the Clerk, to establish a high leading level of surveillance, security and support for the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, and the precincts of the Assembly building; hence, he is well trained with leadership qualities in managerial, security operations and administration to effectively meet expectations required by the Legislature in this role. He currently remains in the role as Serjeant-at-Arms, again, serving the C.I. Government and the community.

  Pastoral Ministry: On the 28th December 1992, Pastor Evans accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Shortly thereafter, he entered Christian service. He felt the call of God to teach and preach. He has been preaching and teaching for approximately 26 years. He served in various capacities: Youth Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, Board of Trustees, Board of Deacons, Youth Pastor, Assistant Pastor and Instructor for the Caribbean Bible Institute

1996-97 – attended the International Theology Leadership Development Program (ITLD) however due to serious illness he had to discontinue
 
1997 – appointed Youth Pastor of the Red Bay Church of God Holiness, Cayman Islands
 
2003 – appointed Assistant Pastor of the Red Bay Church of God Holiness, Cayman Islands
 
May 2013 – graduated, from Hobe Sound Bible College, Florida USA, with a degree in (Pastoral; Ministerial Studies)
 
December 2016 – graduated from the Canadian International Chaplaincy Association, University and Seminary, with a Diploma in Chaplaincy, Leadership and Ministry
 
After working with young people for over 35 years, both in the secular environment and in the Church, to which he feels passionate about, Pastor Evans continues to be involved with the youth.
 
Pastor Evans is married to Josephine M Dilbert and was joined in holy matrimony on 16th September 1989.  To this union, they were blessed with two children, Marticia and Martika, and he is also the proud grandfather of his first grandchild, Kimberlyn.
